LICENSING & USAGE POLICY

When you purchase and download music from https://ilanchouraki.com, you are not purchasing the ownership of the music itself, but a Limited License to use the music under the following terms:

1. PERMITTED USES (What you CAN do)

  • Performance: You are authorized to perform the music in public (concerts, recitals, religious services).
  • Printing: You may print as many copies as necessary for your ensemble (e.g., if you buy a String Quartet, you can print the four individual parts and the full score for your group).
  • Educational Use: You may use the music for teaching and private study.
  • Streaming (Non-Commercial): You may post a video of your performance on social media (YouTube, Instagram, etc.) provided that credit is given to Ilan Chouraki.

2. PROHIBITED USES (What you CANNOT do)

  • Reselling: You may not resell, sublicense, or distribute the digital files (PDF, MP3, Video) to any third party.
  • Public Repositories: You may not upload the files to public libraries, scribd, or file-sharing websites.
  • Commercial Recording: You may not record the music for a commercial release (Spotify, Apple Music, CD) without obtaining a specific Mechanical License from the author.
  • Derivative Works: You may not rearrange, edit, or modify the music to create “new” works without prior written permission.

3. BROADCAST & SYNCHRONIZATION

For use in professional films, television, advertising, or games (Synchronization Rights), the standard purchase of sheet music does not suffice. Please contact [email protected] to discuss a formal Synchronization License.

4. PERFORMANCE ROYALTIES

If you perform this music in a professional venue that pays royalties to a Performance Rights Organization (PRO), please ensure that the work is correctly reported in your setlist:
